We collect and store a lot of key data about the homes which housing associations own and manage, the lettings and sales they undertake, and their key expenditure. Some of our data is used primarily by TSA but some is also used more widely to provide information and research about social housing as a whole.
We source most of our information from the following datasets:
CORE (COntinuous REcording) is a national information source funded jointly by the Tenant Services Authority and the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG). It records information on the characteristics of both housing association and local authority new social housing tenants and the homes they rent and buy.
A factsheet for Core is available.
Full details and latest analysis from CORE can be found at the CORE website.
The RSR survey (Regulatory and Statistical Returns) is an annual event whereby every registered housing association take parts in a census which gathers information about: the type and amount of stock they own and manage; numbers of lettings; rents and service charges; number and reasons for vacancies; aquisitions; sales; and much more.
A factsheet for RSR is available.
Full details and latest analysis from RSR can be found at the RSR website.
NROSH (National Register Of Social Housing) collects social housing property level data from England's local authorities (LAs) and registered social landlords (RSLs). When complete, NROSH will become a single data repository of social housing stock covering the whole of England to provide better quality, more flexible and consistent data for analysis and reporting as well as reducing the data reporting burden on data providers.
Further details are available on the NROSH pages.
TSA gathers data on registered social landlords' key Performance Indicators (PIs). Further details and latest analysis from Housing PIs can be found on the Performance Indicators pages.
