We’re the champion for tenants of affordable housing in England – standing up for their interests and aspirations and putting their needs first. In this section, you can find out more about how tenants can help us drive up standards of services in affordable housing and how they can get involved in the work of their landlord.
Find and compare landlords
This section of the website is where you can see how your landlord is performing and compare it to other housing associations in the area.
The standards your landlord will have to meet
We have held a consultation on the standards landlords will have to meet from April 2010. We are currently going through the responses we have received and we expect to publish our response in March 2010, and this will set out the standards in full.
The standards we consulted on were drawn up with the involvement of tenants and landlords through the National Conversation we held in 2009.
Get help in taking over the management of your housing services
The Tenant Empowerment Programme helps tenants and residents get independent advice, training and information on how to challenge, influence or control how housing services are delivered to their communities.
Your rights
The Charter for Housing Association Applicants and Residents sets out what housing association applicants and residents can expect from their housing association landlords.
Get involved in the work of your association
Since the end of March 2009, all associations that own more than 1,000 homes have had to have a resident on any board or committee that’s responsible for delivering a service, and they must assess the impact of doing this.
